Friday, May 25

Just got in from a work-related dinner and won't be puzzling tonight. Donald has kindly agreed to be the designated blogger. Thanks, Donald. I owe you one.

I'm having an MRI early tomorrow morning -- 45 minutes of lying perfectly still while they try to figure out what's going on with my shoulder.

Tomorrow night...same time...same place.

All that trouble just to avoid having to solve a bear of a Friday, huh.

Good luck with the shoulder.

"Just the facts, Ma'am."

All the best to you. Would be nice if they could let you bring a puzzle book into the MRI scanner, but I don't think that would work so well.

I didn't pick up on any off-color intent in the skiing clue yesterday. Could that be a male interpretation? Good wishes on your MRI and get back to us soon. By the way, I'm from Wyoming. -s

Anonymous: Some folks whether male or female just seem to be on the lookout for double entendres everywhere.

Linda G: Hope they get to the bottom of your problem. (No off-color intended.)

Thanks for all the good wishes.

MRIs are certainly not fun, but what they can show is incredible. I won't see the doctor for a week, but I saw enough to know there's fluid in there that doesn't belong.

I'll be back to blog tonight. Thanks again for your support -- of this blog and my shoulder ; )

Jo is right—first time I read that clue yesterday I thought it was clever. Second or third time I looked at it, I raised an eyebrow. (It's only off-color to say you hope they get to the bottom of Linda's problem if it's a colonoscopy rather than a shoulder MRI! See? My mind goes there sometimes.)

Linda, one advantage of getting an MRI is that you can usually convince the doctor to prescribe a couple Valium so you can relax more thoroughly during the scan. Or is that just me? Hope that fluid can magically disappear without orthopedic torment!
